SIONNA THE FOX GODDESS 1976
I first heard the story of the fox goddess from a story-teller in my mother’s home county, County Clare, in the west of Ireland.
I have been fascinated by these beautiful and now protected creatures since I first saw one when I was a kid. They were rare as hen’s teeth when I was young and hunted almost to extinction for their beautiful fur but today they are everywhere and I see them whenever I’m on my way home from a late-night on the town.
Sionna is the eponymous goddess of the Fox tribe, their protector and their guardian.
