Poster Poem 4 1970 Original Vintage Silkscreen Print

This was the last in the series of posters I produced in tandem with the Tara Telephone beat group.

The rather overblown piece of poetry is my own and is a small piece from a massive epic poem I was writing at the time. This endless epic poem eventually led me to the stories that made up my own ‘Book of Conquests’ a few years later and by then I really had refined my style as a writer and an occasional poet.

The graphic already shows the influence of the great Jack Kirby, creator of the Marvel Universe with Stan Lee.
It was an attempt to include pop and comic iconography in a new way that was direct and modern.
