This is my view as I head into the city. The twin smokestacks (now defunct) are iconic and much-loved so I paint them a lot too. The wetlands there is are wildlife haven and at any time of year the birdlife on view is absolutely astounding.
Painting is my passion
For years I have been painting the view from my studio on the Burrow Beach in Sutton/Howth and the area around this side of Dublin. This is my passion and what I love to do.
It is my own way of relaxing and rebooting my creative mind when it goes a bit pear-shaped and fuzzy when I get overwhelmed with stuff like accounts, bills and the uncertainty of making a living as an artist without a pension.
Most of all I love art itself in all its manifestations, old and new, and to me the art of landscape is always inspiring. If I have another life then all I want to do is paint on canvas.
These artworks are very personal to me as they are what I just love to do, not for a book or a commission or what I think people might like, they are my heart and soul.
I hope they find a place in your heart and your home.
