Description

Evening. The Pigeon House from Dollymount 2014

This is my view as I head into the city. The twin smokestacks (now defunct) are iconic and much-loved so I paint them a lot too. The wetlands there is are wildlife haven and at any time of year the birdlife on view is absolutely astounding.

Painting is my passion

For years I have been painting the view from my studio on the Burrow Beach in Sutton/Howth and the area around this side of Dublin. This is my passion and what I love to do.

It is my own way of relaxing and rebooting my creative mind when it goes a bit pear-shaped and fuzzy when I get overwhelmed with stuff like accounts, bills and the uncertainty of making a living as an artist without a pension.

Most of all I love art itself in all its manifestations, old and new, and to me the art of landscape is always inspiring. If I have another life then all I want to do is paint on canvas.

These artworks are very personal to me as they are what I just love to do, not for a book or a commission or what I think people might like, they are my heart and soul.

I hope they find a place in your heart and your home.

  1. anthony & leyla

In my craft or sullen art
    Exercised in the still night
    When only the moon rages
    And the lovers lie abed
With all their griefs in their arms,
    I labour by singing light
    Not for ambition or bread
Or the strut and trade of charms
    On the ivory stages
    But for the common wages
    Of their most secret heart.

Not for the proud man apart
From the raging moon I write
    On these spindrift pages
    Nor for the towering dead
    With their nightingales and psalms
But for the lovers, their arms
Round the griefs of the ages,
Who pay no praise or wages
Nor heed my craft or art.

    – Dylan Thomas – 1914-1953

Customs and Duties Notice, Prints Only.

EU, UK, and Irish residents, there may be customs/duties payable upon delivery and we will refund any that you incur.

We succeeded in getting the customs/duties exemption for the new Portfolio so things are looking hopeful we can do the same for prints.

Fees are usually €9 but can be more or less if charged at all. This is hardly ideal and we apologize for any inconvenience. Just email us the notice you get with any customs/duties charges and we will refund them.

This does not effect portfolios/books, Che prints, hand-enhanced prints, posters, scarves or anything else, just regular prints.
