Ériu. Fairy Spirit of the Island of Emerald.

One of my better works depicts the goddess who gave her name to the Éireann, the powerful descendants of the mystical tribe of warriors and wizards known as the Tuatha Dé Danann, who came to this island from the Middle East and led the fifth invasion of Ireland in very ancient times.

This circular version of Eriu the Fairy Spirit is actually the very first image for this painting. It was designed for an American company but never published or used. I just love the purity of this original. One of my best, I hope.
